MORE UNWELCOMED PHYTONS

reticulated-python

The weather has been very sticky exceptionally hot these past few days after all theĀ  very wet weather and has begun to bring out the Pythons, unwelcomed killers visitors to the farm where they seem to have taken to the notion that there are ready made dinners is a buffet spread out for them every night. We have lost countless farm animals over the years, everything from chicks to young goats.

I think the catch and release policy is not working in our favour. I think it’s time we develop a taste for phyton soup.

Looks like our friend must be a metre long, at least.

So far we have seen only one python at our farm. He went off before we could do anything. Hope it never comes to us having to develop any taste for snake soup.

We seem to be having more and more phyton’s making visits these past weeks, only last night lost another Duck. I saw one passing by the front gate one rainy night last week and it must have been at least 2 meters long. I wanted to do an Animal Planet heroic run and jump onto the phyton ala Steve Irwin but my full belly from a rather heavy dinner put a stop to it.
